About Us

THE RENAO - A BETTER WAY TO PLAN

The Renao is a custom event planning company founded by two lifelong friends, who know the value of creating memorable experiences.

After planning their own weddings, and helping countless friends through the process, Nicole and Ashley knew there had to be a better way. With Ashley coming from the non profit event planning world, and Nicole working as a nurse and community health advocate, these two women combined their talents and skill sets to found The Renao.

Providing a transparent and highly personalized experience was a natural evolution for these two, who grew tired of seeing countless friends overcharged with hidden fees and drowning in DIY YouTube tutorials. With the clear, level head of a nurse and the scrappy-wear all the hats-mentality of a nonprofit worker, Nicole and Ashley will help you bring your vision into reality with transparent charges, and D-I-Buy services.

Your guests may not remember what you fed them, or the the flowers on the table, but they will remember how you made them feel. Let us create memories for you.

ASHLEY CISSEL LEE

Ashley's career has been spent in nonprofits across the metro Atlanta area producing and managing events from major fundraisers to concerts to staff meetings. While working, she has helped friends and family with their own weddings, birthdays, and special events. Whether the event served thousands of people or a dozen, creating lasting memories has been the goal.

Ashley grew up in a creative household with a grandmother who crocheted intricate doilies, a mechanic grandfather, and a mother that could make a whole city from cardboard boxes. That inventive childhood, and a very understanding family, led to a life-long passion for making things. With The Renao, Ashley will be able to pass this creative skill to her clients and create anything they need to make their event truly unique.

Ashley lives in Marietta, with her husband, Howie, and rambunctious kindergartener, Cecilia. Ashley enjoys making things and self-improvement audio books - currently she is on a Brené Brown kick! She always has at least one personal craft project (if not 8!) going, and her current obsession is quilting.

Ashley has degrees from Georgia State University and the University of Georgia. She will be completing her Project Management Professional certification in December 2019. You can follow her on Instagram @theaclee.

NICOLE MARTIN

Nicole has 10 years of experience in healthcare as a registered nurse and 7 years as team leader of the medical ministry at her church, organizing annual health fairs and quarterly events for the community. Her skills in leadership and community service outreach benefit the function and success of event planning.

Patient care requires customer service skills, a personable attitude, meeting the patients’ needs, critical thinking, and problem solving to address any issues that may arise. Nursing also provides perspective for supporting and addressing the needs of individuals and families on all days, not just the good ones.

Nicole's outreach efforts have led her to work with organizations including the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, and Sickle Cell Foundation to provide information, screening, and services to the public. Her role for these events included advertising, contacting vendors, event set-up, and managing volunteers.

These attributes, and her passion for excellence, will produce events that  will create memorable experiences for The Renao’s customers and their guests.

Nicole lives with her husband and two daughters in Lawrenceville. She enjoys traveling, movies, and doing family-fun activities with her girls.

FIRST INSPIRATION

In 2015, Ashley & Nicole took over day of coordination for their friend’s wedding. According to the bride’s vision, Nicole and Ashley lead and assisted with wedding set-up and break down, flow of ceremony, coordination of photography, cake cutting, and reception exit. This experience brought satisfaction and joy to both them and their bride. The idea to one day own a business that would help more people create experiences and memories that would leave a lasting impression was born.
